2X Remote Desktop Client

I've recently been researching various remote desktop clients to put on my tablet PC. The main reason for this is so that I can access not just files (as I could do that through a FTP client) but so I can run software that is on my PC that is either not compatible or requires resources that my tablet doesn't have.

Of those I tested, I found 2X a really easy and simple app. The software is currently on version 9.0.1082 and has a good range of options:
  • Select colour and resolution
  • Display the remote computer background
  • Menu and Window animation
  • Themes
  • Bitmap Caching
  • Compression
It's also simple to set up, all you need to do is add a terminal server connection and fill in the details of the remote computer.
  • Alias = Remote computer name
  • Server = Remote computer IP address
  • Port = 3389
  • Username/Password = The ones you use to log onto your remote computer
If you don't have a password on your remote computer, it may not let you connect as there is a setting in Windows XP certainly, that prevents connections to accounts with a nil password. That said I haven't tested it on this client.

So there you go, if you need this kind of software, give this one a try.

See you soon,

INE
